Why convert HEIC to JPG
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the format iPhone has used by default since 2017. It is half the weight of JPG at the same quality, but there is one catch: not everything accepts it.
- Marketplaces (Amazon, eBay and others) require JPG (or PNG) for product cards
- Older Windows versions and macOS before Catalina cannot open HEIC without a plugin

Choosing the quality
90% (recommended)
The best balance of quality and size. The eye will not tell it from the original. Fits all typical tasks: marketplaces, social media, 10×15 cm prints, email.
95% (max quality)
Minimal loss compared to the original. Use it for large-format printing (A3+), photo books, professional publishing.
75% (smaller size)
The file comes out 2-3 times smaller. Quality is visually lower under strong zoom, but it is fine for web publishing and email. Handy when you send 50+ photos in one message.
FAQ
Where are my files stored after conversion?
Uploaded HEIC and converted JPG files are kept in a temporary folder on the server and deleted automatically after 1 hour. We have no direct-link access to them, the link with a unique token is available only to you.
How many files can I convert at once?
Up to 20 files in one pass. Each file, no larger than 25 MB. If you have 100+ photos, convert in batches of 20.
Is metadata (date, geo, camera) preserved?
EXIF (camera, lens, exposure) is preserved. GPS coordinates are removed by default for privacy. If you need them, let us know and we will add an option.
Is there a watermark on the finished JPGs?
No. No watermarks, no gdefoto marks. The file is clean.
Can I convert HEIC to PNG or WebP?
JPG only for now. If you need other formats, message us in chat and we will add them in the next release.
How is your service better than iCloud/Photos on Mac?
Apple tools only work if you have a Mac. Our converter works in any browser (Windows, Android, Linux). Plus, we do not depend on an Apple ID and it works anonymously without signup.
Why does conversion take a few seconds rather than instantly?
HEIC is a complex container format. Inside is not a single image but several variants (preview, thumbnails, depth map) plus HEVC compression. Unpacking and re-saving as JPG takes CPU time. Usually 1-3 seconds per photo.
