How to Remove an Object From a Photo on iPhone and Android: Clean Up, Safari and the Browser
Clean Up in the Photos app: where it is and which iPhones have it
There are two ways to remove an object from a photo on an iPhone. The first is the built-in Clean Up tool in the Photos app, which is only available on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16 and newer models. The second is an online tool in Safari, which works on any iPhone because the processing does not happen on the phone. In both cases you point out what should go, and a neural network paints background in its place.
Below, in order: where to find Clean Up and which models have it, what owners of other iPhones can do, how the same job is done on Android and Samsung phones, and which shots come out clean and which do not.

How to remove an object from a photo on iPhone: the short answer
On a supported model the steps are these: open the picture in Photos, go into editing, choose Clean Up and tap the unwanted item, brush over it with your finger or circle it. The iPhone erases the item and rebuilds the background. In the latest system the option sits one step deeper, in the Tools section.
If you do not have that option, the reason is almost always the phone model or the system language. In that case open the Remove Objects tool in Safari, upload the picture and paint over the object with the brush. There is no app to install and no registration either.
Where is Clean Up in the Photos app
According to the iPhone User Guide, the path depends on the system version. In iOS 18 and iOS 26 you open the photo, tap the edit button and then choose Clean Up. In iOS 27 the edit button is followed first by a Tools item, and Clean Up is found inside it.
Apple's help pages call the tool itself Clean Up, and the button that starts it carries the same label. There is no separate app for it: it lives inside the photo editor and shows up there once Apple Intelligence is turned on for the phone.
How to select an unwanted object in a photo on iPhone
There are three ways, all of them described in Apple's help: tap the object, brush over it with your finger, or circle it along its outline. The iPhone highlights some items on its own as soon as you open the tool: one tap on such an item is enough.
- A small detail on a plain background: a tap or a short stroke is the easiest.
- An item with a complicated shape: circle the whole thing without touching what should stay.
- A small thing next to an important part of the frame: zoom in first by spreading two fingers. Two fingers also move the picture around.
When everything unwanted is gone, tap Done. If you removed the wrong thing, the tool has a button that brings the removed object back. The edit can also be undone later: open editing for that picture again, go into Clean Up and tap Reset.
Which iPhones have built-in object removal
Apple lists Clean Up among the Apple Intelligence features and names the models directly: iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, the iPhone 16 models and newer ones, including iPhone Air. The minimum system version for the tool is iOS 18.1. Lower-tier and older models are not on Apple's list. The guide for iOS 27 states the same condition: iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16 models or later that support Apple Intelligence.
| Model | Built-in Clean Up | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max | not on Apple's list | online tool in Safari |
| iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max | not on Apple's list | online tool in Safari |
| iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max | not on Apple's list | online tool in Safari |
| iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max | not on Apple's list | online tool in Safari |
| iPhone 15, 15 Plus | not on Apple's list | online tool in Safari |
| iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max | yes, from iOS 18.1 | Photos, edit, Clean Up |
| iPhone 16 models | yes, from iOS 18.1 | Photos, edit, Clean Up |
| iPhone 17 models, iPhone Air and newer | yes | Photos, edit, Clean Up |
The table is based on Apple's support pages as of the day this article was prepared. Apple changes the list of models and the conditions as new systems come out, so if you are unsure about your model, check Apple's help on the page with the requirements for Clean Up.
How to remove an object from a photo on iPhone 11, 12, 13 and 14
iPhones from 11 to 14, including the Pro and Pro Max versions, do not have built-in Clean Up: these models are not in Apple's list, and a system update does not add the option to the editor. The phones themselves do get updates: iPhone 11 is listed among the models compatible with iOS 27, but Clean Up does not appear on it whatever the system version. It comes down to the model, so looking for a switch in Settings is pointless.
The working route for these models is always the same: the browser. The picture is uploaded to the site, you paint over the unwanted part with your finger, and the finished image comes back to the phone. The power of the iPhone itself has no effect on the result. Step-by-step instructions are in the next section.
One more option for these models is a third-party app with the same feature, for example Google Photos, which is covered in the Android section.
How to remove an object from a photo on iPhone 15, 16 and 17
In the 15 lineup everything hinges on the word Pro. iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max have Clean Up, the regular iPhone 15 and 15 Plus do not. This is the most common source of confusion: phones from the same year, yet a different editor.
With iPhone 16 the tool is available on every model in the lineup, and the same goes for iPhone 17 and iPhone Air: Apple writes about iPhone 16 and later. If a phone like that still has no Clean Up option, check the system version and the language, more on that below.
Removing an object on iPhone in iOS 26 and in the new system: what changed
In iOS 18 and iOS 26 the steps are identical: editing, then Clean Up. For these versions Apple's help describes the tool as a way to remove distractions in the background and gives a separate warning: if you brush over a person's face, it becomes blurred. You can remove a random passer-by entirely, but erasing only the face will not work.
In iOS 27 the tool moved into Tools and gained a choice of processing type: Auto, Fast and High Quality. To change the type, tap the word Auto during clean-up and pick the option you need. With High Quality processing the removal has to be confirmed additionally with the Clean Up button. Two more items appeared next to it in Tools: Extend, which builds out the background beyond the edges of the frame, and Reframe, which changes the perspective of the picture. Apple also warns that photo editing tools that are computed on a server are subject to daily usage limits, and it does not give exact figures.
Why is there no Clean Up button on my iPhone
There are usually three reasons, and it makes sense to check them in this order.
- The model. If you do not have an iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16 or newer, the option will not be there.
- The system version. The tool appeared in iOS 18.1, and on an older system it is missing even on a suitable model. The update is installed in Settings, under General, in Software Update.
- Language and region. Apple says plainly that Clean Up is not available in all languages or in all regions. For Apple Intelligence features the device language and the Siri language must match and be on the list of supported ones. The list has sixteen languages, from English to Japanese, and at the time this article was prepared it did not cover every interface language an iPhone can be set to.
The third point explains why some owners of new iPhones do not see the tool: the phone or Siri is set to a language outside the list, or the two are set differently. Whether to change the language of the whole phone and Siri for the sake of one button is up to you. The Safari method does not depend on the system language.
Can you remove a person from a photo on iPhone
Yes, and on any model. For tools like these a person is an ordinary object: on an iPhone with Clean Up, tap the figure or circle it, on other models paint over it with the brush in the online tool. Installing a separate app for this is not required.
A person standing alone against a simple background disappears cleanly: a passer-by on a beach, a figure on a promenade, a tourist by a wall. If they cover someone who should stay, or stand in a dense crowd, a trace is almost unavoidable. Which shots work and which do not is covered in the last section.
No Clean Up on your iPhone: remove unwanted objects online in Safari
If your iPhone has no Clean Up or it is unavailable, an online tool gives the same result: it opens in Safari as an ordinary page and works on the same logic. You paint over what should go, and a neural network rebuilds the background from the neighbouring parts of the frame. The processing runs on a server, so the year your phone was made does not matter.
Remove unwanted objects from a photo on iPhone online: step by step
The whole procedure takes a few taps. Nothing needs to be set up beforehand.
- Open the tool page in Safari and tap the upload area. Choose a picture from your photo library or from Files.
- When the photo appears on the page, a panel opens below it: a Brush slider and the buttons Brush, Eraser and Clear mask.
- Paint over the whole object with your finger. The painted area is highlighted in semi-transparent red.
- If you touched something you need, switch on Eraser and wipe off the extra part of the paint. Clear mask removes the entire selection at once.
- Tap Remove and wait for the preview. The first processing of the day starts right away, before the following ones the site shows a free queue timer of about two minutes.
- Judge the result. If a trace is left, paint wider and run the processing again: that will already be a new processing out of the daily allowance. The New photo button starts work on a different picture.
Which photos the tool accepts and what size
The tool accepts JPG, PNG and WebP files of up to 25 MB. Each side of the picture must be between 100 and 8000 pixels. An ordinary shot from the iPhone camera fits within these limits. A panorama and a picture at the maximum 48 MP resolution may fail: its long side is slightly over 8000 pixels.
HEIC files are not accepted directly. In practice, when you choose a picture from the library, the iPhone usually hands the site a compatible version by itself, but if the message JPG, PNG, WebP only appears, save a copy of the picture as JPG and upload that. To make the camera shoot in JPEG from the start, open Settings, then Camera, Formats and choose Most Compatible.
The result always comes in JPG format, even if you uploaded a PNG or WebP. The long side of the output file is no more than 4096 pixels: larger frames are scaled down to that size. Everything you did not paint over is carried into the output from the original picture: the neural network redraws only the painted area and a narrow strip around it.
How to paint over an object with your finger on a small screen
The main rule for a touchscreen: paint with a margin. The neural network needs not a single pixel of the object left outside the paint, otherwise a coloured fringe or a dark outline appears along the edge. Go past the edge of the item by a few millimetres of screen, it is safe: the neighbouring background will be restored.
- Your finger covers the spot where you are drawing. Move it slowly and in short strokes, checking the mark after each one.
- No unpainted islands should remain inside the shape: go over the middle once more.
- Do not try to follow the outline exactly. A bold wide stroke followed by a fix with the eraser on the side of the important details works better.
- Turn the phone sideways if the frame is horizontal: the image will get bigger.
What brush size to choose
The Brush slider changes the thickness of the stroke, and the current value is shown next to it. The thickness is counted in pixels of the picture itself, so on a large frame from the camera even a middle value gives a fairly thin line on screen. If the stroke looks like a thread, feel free to move the slider to the right.
A handy scheme: paint the bulk of the object with a large brush, then reduce the brush and go over the parts that stick out: arms, bag straps, chair backs. For wires and branches one pass with a medium brush along the whole length is enough.
How to zoom in on a photo to paint over a small detail
The tool has no separate zoom button, so use the zoom of the page itself. The page treats touches on the picture as drawing, so start the two-finger zoom gesture on an empty spot next to the photo, not on it. Then move the page so that the area you need ends up in the centre.
If you cannot zoom in that way, a workaround helps: beforehand, crop a copy of the picture in Photos down to the area with the object, process it, and work with the full frame later if needed. But usually turning the phone and a thinner brush are enough.
Why include the object's shadow
To the neural network a shadow and a reflection are not connected to the item: if you paint over only the person, their shadow stays lying on the sand by itself and gives the edit away. So take everything that belongs to the object into a single paint-over: the shadow on the ground, the reflection in a puddle, a shop window or wet tarmac, the glare on the floor.
The same applies to small things that trail from the item: a dog's lead, a strap, a speaker cable, the track of a suitcase in the sand. Scan the frame with your eyes in a circle around the object before you tap Remove.
How to save the result to Photos
After processing, a preview appears on the page. It is free: a JPEG of no more than 900 pixels on the long side with the site's watermark, and it is convenient for judging whether the object was removed cleanly. To save the image from the page, hold your finger on it and choose saving to Photos in the menu.
The clean full-size file is paid, and the button for it is under the preview. After payment, the downloaded file can be saved from your downloads to the photo library through the Share menu.
How to remove a person from a photo on iPhone free and without an app
Without an app: yes, everything is done in the browser and no registration is needed. Free: the processing and the preview. The only thing the site gives out for free is the preview: a JPEG of up to 900 pixels with a watermark. That is enough to see whether the neural network can handle your shot. The full-size file without the watermark is paid for separately.
There are five free processings per day from one address, and the count is shared by all the tools on the site that are computed on a server: if you already removed a background or enhanced another picture today, those runs counted towards the five as well. This tool has one more condition. Only the first processing of the day is carried out right away. From the second one on, the photo goes into the free queue: a timer of roughly 120 seconds runs on the page, and after it the processing starts by itself.
Next to the timer there is a button for a paid queue skip. With it the photo is processed immediately, but there will be no preview any more: the finished file without the watermark is handed over after payment. So do not spend attempts on trials: paint over everything unwanted in the frame in one pass, since a single paint-over can contain any number of separate spots.
The processing runs on a server, not in the phone, so you need an internet connection, and a large picture takes longer to upload over a mobile network. Personal shots that you are not ready to send to a third-party service are better edited with the phone's built-in tools.
Do not want to fiddle with it? Hand the photo to a retoucher
Automation does not fix everything: a difficult frame, a photo that matters, an old print off a scanner. Where the algorithm gives up, a person works the picture layer by layer in Photoshop, by hand.

How to remove an object from a photo on Samsung and Android
Android has no single built-in tool: everything depends on the manufacturer. Samsung builds object removal into Gallery, and on many other phones the same role is played by Magic Eraser in the Google Photos app. The browser method, meanwhile, works the same on any phone, including an old or inexpensive one.
How to remove an object from a photo on Samsung
In Samsung's help pages the feature is called Object eraser. In the instructions for Galaxy S23 the path is this: Gallery, the picture you need, the Edit icon, the More settings icon, the Object eraser item. After that you tap the unwanted items and tap Erase.
Samsung notes that feature support and the names of menu items differ depending on the model and the software version. So on your phone the icons may be arranged differently. If the item is missing, open the editor in Gallery and look through the additional tools: the feature is either there, or the model does not support it.
Photo assist and the AI eraser on Galaxy
On devices with Galaxy AI, object removal lives in Photo assist. According to Samsung's help the order is this: open the photo in Gallery, tap the Photo assist icon, circle the unwanted part (the selection line settles along the outline of the item by itself), tap Erase, then Generate. The result is saved with the Save as copy button, and the original picture stays.
In the latest One UI the same assistant has a separate AI eraser tool: you tap the object or circle it and tap Erase. For the assistant Samsung requires signing in to a Samsung account. It is switched on like this: Settings, Galaxy AI, Photo assist, the toggle.
On Galaxy A series models with the Awesome Intelligence feature set, the same assistant has an Object eraser item. Samsung's help for them adds a detail: you can circle several times, and the circled areas add up. While circling, the selection line snaps to the outline of the item automatically. If it grabs too much, turn the snapping off at the top of the screen and circle by hand. The result can be saved over the original file with the Save button or separately with the Save copy button.
How to remove shadows and reflections on Samsung
In Samsung's instructions for Galaxy S23, Object eraser contains two separate buttons: Erase shadow and Erase reflection. The phone finds the shadows and reflections worth removing by itself. Samsung warns that the result depends on the picture and the shooting conditions.
This is handy for the shadow of a hand on a document or a reflection in a shop window. The shadow cast by a person you removed is more reliably circled together with them than left to the automatic mode.
How to remove a person from a photo on Android: Magic Eraser in Google Photos
In the Google Photos app an object is removed like this: open the picture, tap Edit, choose Magic Eraser on the Actions tab, circle the unwanted part or brush over it and tap Erase, and Done at the end. If the tab is not visible, Google's help suggests the search inside the editor: type Magic Eraser into it. The selection can be corrected with Refine selection, which adds objects to it or subtracts them.
Google's requirements for most editor features: at least 3 GB of RAM and Android 8.0 or newer, while certain features need 4 or 6 GB. On 32-bit devices the editor, according to the same help, is not available. Some tools have to be downloaded before first use: Google advises connecting to Wi-Fi and checking the free space.
Google keeps part of the editor features for Pixel phones only, and some tools are not available in every country. If you have no Magic Eraser, the reason is most likely one of these conditions, and settings will not cure it.
Google Photos on iPhone: a backup in-app option
Google Photos exists for iPhone too, and Google's help for iPhone describes the same order: Edit, the Actions tab, Magic Eraser, circle the unwanted part. Google's requirements for iPhone: iOS 18.0 or newer and at least 3 GB of RAM.
For owners of iPhones without Clean Up this is a way to get an eraser inside an app. The price of it: installing the app, signing in to a Google account and giving the app access to your photo library.
How to remove a person from a photo on an Android phone without an app
Open the online tool in Chrome or any other browser on the phone: the steps are the same as on iPhone. Upload the picture, paint over the person with your finger and a margin, fix it with the eraser, tap Remove. For the tool there is no difference between Android and iPhone, since it works with the picture, not with the phone.
The limits are shared too: JPG, PNG or WebP up to 25 MB, a side of up to 8000 pixels, five free processings per day from an address and a queue of about two minutes starting with the second. Some Android phones shoot in ultra-high resolution, and such a frame may not pass on side length. In that case shoot in the regular camera mode or downsize a copy of the picture in the gallery.
The preview is saved with a long press on the image, and the browser menu has an item for downloading the image. A detailed breakdown of the tool itself, not tied to a phone, is in the article how to remove unwanted objects from a photo online.
Which method to choose on Android
If you have a Samsung with object removal in Gallery, start with it: the picture does not have to be uploaded anywhere, and the edit is easy to undo. If there is no built-in feature or it did not cope, try Google Photos or the browser.
- Built-in editor: the fastest, but not present on every model.
- Google Photos: needs an account and a suitable device, and the set of features depends on the phone and the country.
- Browser: works wherever the site opens, but needs an internet connection, only a reduced preview with the site's watermark is given out free, and the clean file is paid.
Different neural networks rebuild the background differently. If one method left a blotch, another often produces a clean image on the same shot: trying a second option is worth doing before you sit down to manual retouching.
Removing a person from a photo online on a phone: what to keep in mind
Edit the original, not a copy from a messenger. A forwarded picture is compressed, it has less detail, and the rebuilt area comes out mushier. The original sits in the gallery of whoever took the shot: ask them to send it as a file, without compression.
Do not process a screenshot in place of the photo. A screenshot has the resolution of the screen, not of the camera, and after an object is removed such a frame handles printing and enlarging poorly.
And the last thing: remove the unwanted parts first, and only then crop the frame and apply filters. It is easier for the neural network to rebuild the background when there is a lot of real image around the object. How to prepare a finished picture for posting is described in the article how to improve a photo for social media.
What removes cleanly and what does not: background, people, shadows and text
The result depends not on the phone and not on the name of the feature, but on what lies behind the removed object. The neural network does not know what was really there: it continues what it sees around the paint-over. If the surroundings are an even, readable texture, you will not find the seam. If the surroundings are a complicated scene, it makes things up, and not always successfully. This is equally true of Apple's Clean Up, of the Samsung and Google features and of the online tool.
On which backgrounds an object removes cleanly
Uniform surfaces without a sharp pattern rebuild best: sky, water, sand, snow, grass, tarmac, a plain wall, a floor without large tiles. On these you can remove even a large item, and the place of the edit will not be noticeable.
- A passer-by in the distance on a beach or in a field.
- Wires and poles against the sky.
- A litter bin, a road sign, a bag on grass or tarmac.
- A socket, a light switch or a cord on a plain-coloured wall.
- A stain or a speck on a tablecloth, dust specks in a product shot.
The general rule: the smaller the object relative to the frame and the calmer the background around it, the cleaner the result. A small item in the sky vanishes without a trace, while a person filling half the frame leaves behind a large area that has to be invented.
How to remove people in the background of a photo on iPhone
People in the background remove well if they stand apart and have a simple background behind them: sea, sky, road, the wall of a building. Paint over each figure completely, from the top of the head to the feet, together with the shadow on the ground and whatever the person is holding.
It is harder when there are many people and they merge into a crowd. Then do not try to remove everyone: remove the two or three who distract the most, for example a person in a bright jacket next to the subject of the shot. A breakdown of exactly such holiday pictures is in the article how to remove unwanted people from holiday photos.
Can you remove a person standing next to or overlapping someone else
You can try, but a clean result should not be expected here. If the unwanted person covers the shoulder, arm or part of the face of someone who should stay, the neural network will have to draw that part of the body from scratch. It does not know what the arm looked like or what the clothes were, and it produces a plausible but invented detail. Sometimes this goes unnoticed, sometimes you get an oddly shaped arm.
In a case like this you need to paint carefully: only the unwanted person, without going onto the one who stays. Here the margin rule works the other way round: take the margin towards the background, and on the side of the person you need, run the edge of the paint exactly along the boundary and touch it up with the eraser.
If the people are hugging or standing right up against each other, the more honest choice is another shot from the series or cropping the photo. An automatic tool cannot rebuild half a person without traces.
Why an object removes badly on a complicated background
A complicated background is anything with a strict order that the eye checks at once. Brickwork, tiles, a picket fence, railings, the windows of a building, bookshelves, a patterned carpet. The neural network will continue the pattern approximately, and the lines may not meet: the bricks drift, a fence slat bends.
A separate difficult group is faces and hands. If an object covers a face, for example a branch, someone's hand or a bag strap, the face will be partly invented after removal, and the person in the picture may stop looking like themselves. Other techniques work better for portraits, and they are covered in the article how to improve a selfie taken on a phone.
How to remove text from a picture on iPhone
Lettering on your own picture is removed just like any item: a date stamp in the corner of the frame, a stray marker note, the print on a T-shirt or a sign in the background. Paint over the letters completely, with a small border around them. On an even background no trace will remain.
It goes badly when the text lies on a detailed image or itself takes up most of the frame: there is no information under the letters, and the neural network fills the space with an averaged texture. The tool cannot write different text in place of the removed lettering, it only rebuilds the background.
How to remove a shadow from a photo on iPhone
A shadow is removed by painting over it, like an item, but the result depends on its edge. A dense shadow with a sharp outline on a uniform surface, for example your own shadow on sand or tarmac, removes well: paint over it completely and a little wider.
A soft shadow that fades out gradually is harder: it has no boundary, and after the middle is removed a light patch with a dark halo is left. Paint over such a shadow with a large margin, up to the point where the surface is definitely lit evenly. A shadow on a face cannot be cured by painting over it: that is a job for light correction, not for object removal.
How to remove a large object in parts
A large item painted over as one blob leaves the neural network too much emptiness, and the middle of the blob comes out blurred. It is better to go in several passes: remove a part each time and make the next edit on top of the previous result.
- First remove the edges of the object that lie on a simple background.
- Save the result and upload it again.
- Paint over the remaining part: now there is more clean background around it, and there is something to rebuild from.
- At the end go over the leftovers: the shadow, the reflection, the blotch where the passes met.
Keep three things in mind. The free preview is reduced to 900 pixels, so working in several passes at full size requires the clean file. Each pass counts as a separate processing out of the five free ones per day. And before each pass after the first you will have to wait in the queue for about two minutes. In the built-in editors on iPhone and Samsung, working in parts is easier: there each tap is applied to the same picture right away.
A trace is left after removal: what to do
First identify the kind of trace. A dark or coloured outline in the shape of the item means the paint-over was too narrow: repeat it wider. A blurred blotch means the area is too large or the background is complicated: try it in parts. A repeated pattern, for example two identical bushes side by side, is cured by a small paint-over of one of the repeats.
If the trace remains after two or three attempts, automation usually will not get any further with it, and there are only five free processings a day anyway. Three ways out remain: crop the frame so that the problem spot goes past the edge, take another picture from the series, or hand the photo over for manual retouching.
When manual retouching is needed
Manual work is needed where the rebuilt area will be examined up close or where mistakes are not allowed: large prints, wedding and family portraits, product shots for a catalogue. And where a specific detail has to be restored: an arm, the edge of a dress, a wallpaper pattern, railings.
A retoucher does not guess but assembles what is missing from neighbouring parts of the same frame or from other pictures in the series, and makes sure the lines meet. It takes longer and costs more, but the result does not depend on luck. And if what bothers you is not one item but the whole backdrop, it is simpler not to clean it piece by piece but to remove the background entirely and keep only the main subject.
Frequently asked questions
How do I remove an object from a photo on iPhone without apps? On iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16 and newer: in Photos, open editing for the picture and choose Clean Up. On other models, open the online tool in Safari, upload the photo, paint over the object with the brush and tap Remove.
Which iPhones have the Clean Up feature? According to Apple Support: iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, the iPhone 16 models and newer ones, including iPhone Air, with iOS 18.1 or later. iPhones from 11 to 14 and the regular iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are not on the list.
Why is there no Clean Up button on my new iPhone? Check the system version and the language. Apple states that Clean Up is not available in all languages and regions, and the device and Siri language must be on the list of those supported for Apple Intelligence. At the time this article was prepared the list did not cover every language an iPhone can be set to.
Can you remove a person from a photo on iPhone? Yes. The built-in Clean Up and the online tool remove the whole figure if you paint over it together with its shadow. It comes out clean on a simple background. If the person overlaps another person, the rebuilt part will be invented and may look unnatural.
How do I remove an object from a photo on Samsung? In Gallery, open the picture and go to the editor: the feature is called Object eraser. On models with Galaxy AI it is found in Photo assist, and in the latest One UI the same place has an AI eraser. The names of the items depend on the model and the software version.
How do I remove a person from a photo on Android if there is no built-in feature? Try Magic Eraser in the Google Photos app: Edit, the Actions tab, Magic Eraser, then select the object and tap Erase. If it is not on your device, open the online tool in the browser: it works on any phone.
How much does it cost to remove an object online, and do I need to register? No registration is needed. The preview is given out free: a JPEG of up to 900 pixels with the site's watermark. There are five free processings per day from one address across all the server-side tools on the site, and from the second processing of the day a queue of about two minutes or a paid skip kicks in. The clean full-size file is paid.
Which files can I upload to the online tool? JPG, PNG and WebP of up to 25 MB, with sides from 100 to 8000 pixels. HEIC is not accepted directly. The result comes as a JPG, and the long side of the output file is no more than 4096 pixels.
